August To Read

August To Read

Wow, I can’t even believe how fast the year is going! Onto another To Read post, I love these posts but they always remind me of how many books I buy sooo oops.

First up on my list is Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret K, McElderry. This has been on my Amazon wish list for a while and I actually bought it back in June but my To Read list is a mile long and well I kind of misplaced it somewhere in my house, oops, but I’ve find it now. If you follow me on Instagram you’ll also know I’ve already sneakily been reading it in July but I’m hoping to finally finish it in August and also do a blog post on it because wow, what a book! Sorcery of Thorns is

An imaginative fantasy about an apprentice at a magical library who must battle a powerful sorcerer to save her kingdom.

Now, I don’t even know why or how I picked up this book but this month I’m hoping to read Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning. Darkfever centres around MacKayla and her quest to find her sister’s murderer. I’m obsessed with anything to do with the fae so I’m intrigued to read more.

When her sister is murdered, leaving a single clue to her death – a cryptic message on Mac’s cell phone – Mac journeys to Ireland in search of answers. The quest to find her sister’s killer draws her into a shadowy realm where nothing is as it seems, where good and evil wear the same treacherously seductive mask.

Lastly I’m hoping to read Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi. Again, if you follow me on Instagram you’ll know that I may or may not have started this already, but I’m really enjoying it. I’ve also just seen that it’s going to be turned into a movie which is amazing news!

Zélie is one such person. Now she has a chance to bring back magic to her people and strike against the monarchy. With the help of a rogue princess, Zélie must learn to harness her powers and outrun the crown prince, who is hell-bent on eradicating magic for good.
Danger lurks in Orïsha, where strange creatures prowl, and vengeful spirits wait in the waters. Yet the greatest danger may be Zélie herself as she struggles to come to terms with the strength of her magic – and her growing feelings for an enemy.
