If I like the sound of a book, it has a pretty cover and it’s been recommended several times on bookstagram and/or book twitter then there’s a good chance I’ll buy it/check it out of the library.
I bought a book last year and finally decided to start reading it in August…I haven’t touched it since! I managed to get about half way through but for some reason I just cannot finish it. It’s such a shame because it’s a really good book, the premise is so interesting, there’s a fascinating magic system and even a possible enemies to lover trope. This book has been so well received it’s being turned into a movie, so why can’t I finish it?
Tbh it’s not even the first time I “did not finish” or “DNF” a book, I’ve only done it a couple of times but if I’m being realistic it’s probably won’t be the last time.
I’ve been dithering around about whether to push on and just read it because it seems such a waste to not finish it when I’ve nearly read half of it. But I just cannot do it to myself, reading shouldn’t feel like a chore
Have you ever “DNF” a book before?
